Meet Shanna!!
Shanna M. Farmer has served as the President & CEO of United Way of Pueblo County since October 2019. She was born and raised in Pueblo, Colorado, and has over 18 years of experience working in nonprofits, higher education, constituent services, politics, and public relations throughout this region. Throughout the course of her career, she has been a board member for several nonprofit organizations and has volunteered thousands of hours to local and statewide initiatives. Currently, she is on the Board of Directors for the Colorado Children’s Campaign and serves as a member of the Pueblo Community Commission on Housing and Homelessness, Community Services Advisory Commission (CSAC), and LEAD Key Stakeholder Committee. Shanna holds a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University and a Bachelor’s degree from CSU Pueblo in Political Science with minors in Mass Communication and Leadership Studies. Since 2015, Shanna has been an Adjunct Faculty member at CSU Pueblo in the President’s Leadership Program and is committed to supporting students and building up our next generation of leaders. She is married to Sean T. Wolff, and they are the proud parents of several rescued uniquely abled dogs and cats. She’s a self-proclaimed crazy cat/dog lady and Disney nerd. When she’s not busy advocating for a cause she’s passionate about or fostering a litter of neonatal kittens, she loves spending time with her family and friends and especially enjoys bike riding, kayaking, photography, and traveling.
Shanna's responses to some fun questions:
If I had a superpower it would be the ability to time travel.
If I were a pasta shape I would be gnocchi- complex yet adaptable to a variety of situations.
If I entered a talent show I would perform a showstopping rendition of “Dancing Queen” (singing AND dancing, costume required). And if this ever actually happens, please remember I said showstopping, not Grammy award-winning.
The most inspiring thing about my job is I love imagining “what could be” for our community and this organization and finding achievable and actionable ways to make those dreams a reality.
