Meet Domonique!!

Hi, my name is Domonique and I am the new Community Resource Hub Coordinator.  I have spent the majority of my career working in education. My passion has always been to ensure the youth and families in Pueblo have access to all the tools needed to overcome barriers to success. Although I spent 5 years in the classroom teaching 1st grade, 4th grade, and 5th grade, I have also done a lot of work around family engagement, adverse childhood experiences, and building resilience.  I hold a bachelor's degree in human services and a master's degree in education with a minor in trauma and resilience. I am very excited to begin the community resource hub work at United Way and I am looking forward to meeting each of the staff members.

Some fun facts about Domonique are:

  • I am the oldest daughter and granddaughter of a very close family
  • I always wanted to be a mom and now I have 2 daughters and a wonderful son-in law
  • I love paddle boarding, yoga, and naps
  • I am not a vegetarian, but I don't care for meat so most of my meals are meatless
  • I attend at least 5 concerts in Colorado every year
  • I am an April taurus and I have been told that I embody a lot of aspects of a bull
  • I am a lifelong learner who believes that as long as you are learning something new, you will never grow old

Tanya's Answers to some fun questions:

If I had a Superpower, My superpower would be teleportation. I would use this superpower many times a day, as I am always finding myself running late to something.

If I were in a pasta shape, I took a BuzzFeed quiz in order to answer this question, and according to the results.  I would be farfalle because I am an extrovert who loves to talk and make friends. I tend to think I am more introverted, but since farfalle is versatile and can be in hot or cold dishes, with sauce or just butter; I think farfalle is a great pick.

If I entered a talent show, I can do some really cool party tricks, but I don't think wiggling my ears would win any awards so I would have to get up there and sing.

The most inspiring thing about my job is the ability to make an impact on families and youth in our community. In this position, I will be able to listen to our community to hear their needs and design a community resource hub with their input. It is very exciting to be able to ensure that the work being done in our community is accessible to families in need.
